Bakit Kailangang Magpabautismo sa Tubig ang Isang New Believer?
Hi Kapatid,
Congratulations sa bago mong journey bilang follower ni Jesus! Napaka-importanteng decision ang ginawa mo—ang tanggapin si Jesus bilang iyong Lord and Savior.
Ngayon na ikaw ay believer na, isa sa mga first steps na hinihiling ni Jesus sa atin ay water baptism o bautismo sa tubig.
Maybe nagtatanong ka:
“Bakit ko kailangang magpabaptize?”
Here’s a simple explanation para sa’yo—basahin mo with an open heart.
1. Jesus Commands It.
Si Jesus mismo nagpabaptize, kahit wala Siyang kasalanan. Nagpakita Siya ng example para sundan natin.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Hindi lang tradition ang baptism. Ito ay utos ni Jesus. Kapag tayo ay nagpa-baptize, ipinapakita natin na mahal natin Siya at gusto natin Siyang sundin.
Sabi nga ni Charles Spurgeon:
"The first command for a Christian is to be baptized. If he will not obey, he has not truly given himself up to the Lord."
2. Baptism Comes After Receiving Christ.
Makikita sa Bible na ang mga tao noon ay nagpabaptize after nilang maniwala kay Jesus, hindi bago.
Acts 2:41 (NIV)
"Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."
Ibig sabihin, hindi ka magpapabaptize para maligtas. Magpapabaptize ka kasi ligtas ka na! Ipinapakita mo lang na tinanggap mo na si Jesus.
3. Baptism Is a Public Declaration of Your Faith.
Parang suot mo ang jersey ng favorite mong team—pinapakita mo kung kanino ka panig.
Romans 10:9 (NLT)
"If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Kapag nagpabaptize ka, ipinapahayag mo sa lahat na ikaw ay tagasunod na ni Jesus.
Sabi ni Billy Graham:
"Baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith."
4. Baptism Is a Symbol of Your New Life in Christ.
Kapag inilulubog ka sa tubig, simbolo ito na nilibing mo na ang dati mong buhay. Pag-ahon mo, simbolo ito ng bagong buhay mo kay Jesus.
Romans 6:4 (NIV)
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
Simple illustration:
- Pagkalubog sa tubig = pamamaalam sa old life
- Pag-ahon sa tubig = bagong simula with Jesus
5. Baptism Strengthens Your Walk with God.
Kapag sumusunod tayo, mas lumalalim ang relationship natin kay Lord. After baptism, madalas nakakaramdam ang believer ng peace at joy sa puso.
John 14:23 (NLT)
"Jesus replied, 'All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.'"
Kapag nagpa-baptize ka, you’re opening yourself to more of God’s presence sa buhay mo.
Example: Ang Ethiopian Official (Acts 8:26-40)
Sa Bible, may account ng isang opisyal mula Ethiopia. Narinig niya ang Gospel through Philip, at nung naniwala siya, agad niyang sinabi:
"Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?"
(Acts 8:36, NIV)
Right away, nagpabaptize siya!
Final Thought
Reminder lang: Baptism doesn’t save you—Jesus does! Pero ang baptism ay isang napakagandang hakbang ng obedience at worship.
Ito ay simbolo na gusto mong sundan si Jesus all the way.
